Bratus, Croatia
Bratus is situated in the central part of the Croatian coast, in the Central Dalmatia, 5 km south from Baska Voda. Its landscape is the combination of massif Biokovo, white gravel beaches and crystal blue sea.This pearl of rural architecture is more like a dream then reality. Here you can see a well preserved example of dalmatian architecture - "Kacic mansion".
Bratus has 50 inhabitantsIts and around 270 beds in private accommodation and apartments. The peace here is disturbed only by the sounds of the waves, sea gullls and crickets.
Bratus was mentioned for the first time in 1674. as a coastal place with an inlet and "Kacica dvori" ("Kacic mansion"). Today Bratus is a small fisherman place oriented towards tourism, whose center is dominated by old stone houses.
Above Bratus there is a prehistorical site Gradina with with dominating central rock and a few smaller around it. In Bratus you can find restaurant with traditional Dalmatian cuisine, coffee bars, grocery store, tourist office and a small port for boats.
